Who We Are

Who We Are

männer.ch/masculinities.ch brings together men’s organizations and groups, individuals and couples as well as professionals working on boys’, men’s, and fathers’ issues in Switzerland. As the the umbrella organization of men’s and father’s organizations advocating for gender equality in Switzerland, männer.ch has been working since 2005 to ensure that men do not miss the opportunity to participate in the struggle for gender equality—or miss out on its results. We view emancipation as the historic opportunity to realize equal opportunities and gender justice for everyone. We believe gender equality offers boys, men, and fathers entirely new opportunities to live their lives free from the obligation to act as the provider and to measure their self-worth based on their job performance. Let’s use this opportunity—time to make change happen!

We Are Both Umbrella Organization and Professional Association

We Are Both Umbrella Organization and Professional Association

männer.ch/masculinities.ch unites individuals as well as organizations. Men—and of course women as well—interested in our work can join as individual members or even as couples. Organizational membership is available for regional men’s initiatives, local organizations and coalitions, and companies. Here you will find links to all our organizational members.

Strategic Leadership

Strategic Leadership

Five board members devise the strategy for männer.ch/masculinities.ch. They come together six to eight times per year for half-day board meetings. The Director of the Swiss Insititute for Men and Gender Issues participates in these meetings in the role of expert.

Our Staff

Our Staff

männer.ch/masculinities.ch sees itself as a lean, agile organization that represents the interests of boys and men in Switzerland. We strive to do this with little staff and overhead costs. Our offices are in Burgdorf, but our work happens all throughout Switzerland.

männer.ch/masculinities.ch is the the umbrella organization of men’s and father’s organizations advocating for gender equality in Switzerland. As advocates for boys’, men’s, and fathers’ issues, we work to ensure that men do not miss the opportunity to participate in the struggle for gender equality—or miss out on its results. Since 2005, we have been pioneers in this field owing to our triple advocacy approach. Results of our work can be seen in the creation of the Swiss Father’s Day; the passage of an equitable law governing separation and divorce; the rapid increase of men working part-time; and ever-growing attention to the care contributions of men—professionally as well as within family settings.
